I am a Maryland based photographer currently working for The Aegis and Record newspapers in Harford County. I have been working for the paper since April 2008 and enjoy covering everything that is thrown at me… sports, spot news, feature assignments and many other events that happen in our area.
After a couple years of striving for a business degree, I realized that my passion was for photography. I’ve had a camera since I was little, keeping myself occupied while driving back and forth between Michigan and Maryland to see my family. After taking my first photo class at Montgomery College I was hooked for good. I applied to UMBC and graduated in 2007 with a bachelors degree in Visual Arts. I had some great internships along the way, one with Susana Raab, a photographer in D.C. and one at the Baltimore Business Journal with Nick Griner. I learned a tremendous amount from those experiences and thankful that they lead me to where I am today.
I grew up in Maryland and then made my way to Michigan for a few years. Once I graduated High School and had a year of college under my belt, I decided to come back to Maryland where I could get steamed crabs, spearmint snowballs, and Chick-fil-la’s Cookies and Cream milkshakes whenever I wanted and of course to finish college.
I enjoy taking on new challenges with my photography and learning new techniques. I will always be willing to help out on shoots, holding reflectors or hauling around gear. Moving forward and becoming a better photographer is my goal and whatever it takes to accomplish that is what I want to do.
